The old airfield
Wide-open spaces, big skies, and 30 acres of perimeter camping in the south of the New Forest near to the historic village of Burley and only 4 miles from our favourite beaches of Mudeford and Highcliffe.
Overlooked by nothing more than a smart copse of beech and oaks, at The Old Airfield, the only distractions come from the forest’s wild inhabitants, the New Forest ponies and their foals will be watching from the surrounding heathland, as you relish the great outdoors.
Ideal spot for active breaks
Park up the car and set out from your tent to explore footpaths across heathland and forest. Some of the New Forest’s more frequented cycle trails are nearby, and our little pocket of woodland is perfect for tree climbing and den building, with a spot of grown-up supervision, of course! Set up a hammock and chill out under the trees or if the consensus is to head to the beach, Highcliffe and Mudeford are a short drive away, perfect for water-sports, wild swimming or just splashing through the surf.
